Medical assistance for defenders is one of the priority areas of our work. Every day, hundreds of people are seriously injured defending Ukraine from the russian invaders. Many of them can be saved if the necessary medical supplies are at hand. In June, the Smart Medical Aid Foundation was one of the first to purchase and hand over the newest CambCol Clotta hemostatic sponges to Ukrainian doctors. These are hemostatic agents that can quickly stop bleeding; they do not contain any harmful substances and are hypoallergenic. They were developed by the British professor of clinical traumatology at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Sir Keith Porter, before the war in Ukraine even started. The full-scale russian invasion of motivated the doctor to speed up the licensing of the invention. Now it can be imported and used in Ukraine. The war continues, and quality tactical medicine is constantly needed on the front lines. In May, together with our partners, we managed to hand over one and a half thousand tested CAT tourniquets and over two thousand tactical first-aid kits to Ukrainian defenders. Thanks to your support, each first-aid kit contains everything necessary for emergency care and bleeding management in case of injury: a CAT tourniquet, self-adhesive bandages, sticking plaster, nasopharyngeal tube, occlusive dressing, decompression needle, gloves, and a thermal blanket. In addition, another ambulance with the necessary equipment and medications went to our defenders in the East. In April, we received two batches of CAT hemostatic tourniquets, containing thirty thousand pieces! They all went to positions where our boys and girls need them the most. Thanks to the joint work of our partners in Ukraine and abroad, volunteers, and the support of concerned volunteers, defenders on the front lines will have more chances to be saved in case of injury. This month, tactical first-aid kits with all necessary equipment were delivered to the military hospital in Zaporizhzhia, Dnipro, and Mariupol, as well as defense units in Kyiv. Together we take care of the people who protect our homes every day.
