The all-Ukrainian initiative "Let's start the heart together"
Smart Medical Aid and Razom for Ukraine Charity Foundations purchased more than half a hundred defibrillators, which are installed in the largest cities of Ukraine. With them, you can resuscitate a person in case of a sudden cardiac arrest on the street, even without special medical education. Defibrillators have already been installed in places of mass gatherings of people in Lviv and Dnipro.
In addition, experienced trainers from Smart Medical Aid teach everyone who wants to provide first aid to adults and children using special equipment and show how to use defibrillators.
The goal of the "Let's start hearts together" campaign is to increase society's awareness of BLS (Basic Life Support) skills and reduce the number of deaths from sudden cardiac arrest, which is a common practice in developed European countries. This is extremely important because cardiovascular diseases are the first cause of mortality among Ukrainians. Timely professional help for these patients is crucial. However, it is often pre-medical assistance that can be provided by people without special education that can save a life before the arrival of an ambulance.
